Aaronette

MEET

Aaronette is a passionate educator, literacy advocate, author, and community leader with
over 28 years of experience in Broward County Public Schools. She has dedicated her career
to transforming the lives of students through innovative literacy instruction, mentorship, and
advocacy for underprivileged communities.

As a Highly Effective Educator, Aaronette has been honored as a two-time Teacher of the
Year, the 2023-2024 Broward County Public Schools Teacher of Character for Kindness,
and the 2021-2022 Orange Bowl Leadership Academy Teacher of the Year. She is deeply
committed to helping students—particularly struggling readers and English Language
Learners—reach their full potential by implementing research-based interventions and the
Science of Reading strategies.

Beyond the classroom, Aaronette is the visionary behind iRock Tutoring Company, a
program designed to support K-8 students in literacy and academic success. Her creative
endeavors extend into writing, with her debut children’s book series, “Suzy Sunshine”,
designed to teach kindness and faith through engaging storytelling.

Despite facing personal health challenges, including congestive heart failure and open-heart
surgery, Aaronette remains a force of resilience, using her journey as a testament to faith,
perseverance, and the power of community. She actively gives back by providing essentials
such as books, food, and toiletries to students in need within her school and community.

Through her work as an educator, speaker, mentor, and writer, Aaronette is on a mission to
empower students, inspire educators, and bring hope through faith-based initiatives and
creative storytelling.
